I pondered out loud en route to the studio.

Lucky for me the girlies heard me, and asked what I was off to create.

I replied, "I'm not quite sure...something that is NOT-a-Card."

"Mommy, what about a fortune teller!?"

The wheels started spinning then...

Oh the possibilities!

Sienna was quick to say that I could use real stamps or digital images, and yet...the most prefect answer was one of her stamps benefiting Autism.

Voila! All I needed was to think like 'almost 10 year olds!'

I can remember making these in grade school too.

Here's the girlies' project come to life...

Most "fortune tellers" have numbers written in for the second and third selection,

Sienna opted for differing sequins and sprinkles in quantities 1-8...

Meanwhile, Sierra happily tested and reorganized the old 'mommy markers'
*working ones will be used on the final step...

Let the fun begin, (as if CREATING was not the funnest part!)

Hard to believe it's almost been 2 years since my "Puppy Luv"

or "the BIG dog" as some called him became an Angel.

When I drew this image I was thinking of all of our people friends that grieve at the loss of the family pet; believe me I know, they truly can become part of your family.

Pet Loss/ Sympathy cards are in demand.

As I colored "Jethro" I realized I game him "Whatchamacallit" ears (yes, I really do have a heaven sent German Shepherd named Whatchamacallit.

(his debut in the stamp world involved feathers! )

As I further pondered the ears I drew, I decided that when I 12 year old dog earns his wings and a super plush cloud, he probably reverts back to his spry puppy days; so the one floppy ear is O.K. :) even though Jethro's were always big, UP and pointy.

someone special strolls into your life.

At our church there is an annual program that pairs up each child with an adult;

it's called "adopt-a-kid". The goal is to have someone they can each pray for, give a card to, and a million hugs, before long your families have grown to encompass the love of someone you might not otherwise have really gotten to know. 3 years ago Sienna was adopted by Miss Cleo.

(she so very much reminds me of my 'Nan' who is an angel) Our lives have benefited greatly from knowing and loving and praying for this amazing woman.

She has been in the hospital for over a week now, with her husband Mr. Ralph at her side.

If you believe in prayer would you please say one for Miss Cleo; she could use a bit of healing.

I chose to showcase what would often be seen as a masculine image, even if for a child,

and put a girly girly spin on 'her'...

it's diamonds and pearls and jewels, oh my!

It has been 10 days since I've been here...and quite unplanned!

it started last Friday night with a trip to the ER, Sienna ended up being hospitalized and having surgery; kind of an emotional roller coaster. Ian acquired a stomach bug that lasted 5 days and somewhere in the midst of all that I just went down hill...completely run down sick. Those of you that know my daily espresso intake can attest that if I've only had 2 cups since Wednesday I must be sick! Still today- just drinking water or tea. I finally ate a meal tonight. Praying I'm on the road to recovery.

Cards for Haeli

Hi fellow crafters. I have a story to tell today....
Earlier this week my sister, who works for a school system, contacted me regarding one of the middle school students. This young lady, Haeli, is in 6th grade, just like my little girl. Haeli is dealing with a very serious disease, something that is even hard for an adult to deal with... cancer. She has a rare form of ovarian cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The first thing I thought of was all the friends I have made in blog land while crafting. I thought of all the beautiful cards and scrapbooks people make. And, I thought, this little girl would probably really like to receive cards and other craft items from all over the US as well as the world. I am sure this would inspire her own paper crafting. So that is where you all come in! I would love to send this young lady anything to bring a smile to her face. My sister tells me she is interested in art, and her teachers say she is quite talented, so I am putting a basket together of scrapbook/stamping items for her to use. Also, I am asking you, my followers/friends to send her a card. Of course if you want to send her a little something else, stickers, embellishments etc, I am sure she would love that as well. Maybe for a moment we can take her mind off her illness!
So fellow crafters, I humbly ask for your help here. Could you send a card to Haeli? Would you be willing to post a little something on your blog asking for cards for her? I am sure she would be thrilled to receive a lot cards, etc. from all over the world.

(further info I inquired about and the answer received from Michelle's sister~~~

...I just talked with Haeli's mom again, she is so excited to hear all this.

She told me that Haeli is an avid horseback rider.

Her favorite color is blue.

She loves music! She plays the viola, the french horn, trumpet and piano.

Plus she is in choir and likes to sing.

So that is a lot more info on Haeli for ya!)

I actually went to Hobby Lobby in search of the perfectly charming Beauty Parlor accouterment- not a comb, brush or mirror to be had, and then along came darling Sierra, "Mom, I have some charms, want to see!?"

The scrapbooker in me affixed it as an anchor, however, its original plan was to be used in a handmade bracelet by a 9 yr. old.

Such SWEET little girls...

So cute...I had to make one!
I used clothesline baby clothes paper to imply the reason you might not be sleeping is the precious baby in the nursery across the hall. It could so easily be that you drank too much espresso and then a Starbucks gift card could come into play...can't you just see the sheep a gorgeous mocha color!? Do sheep come in brown?
