Our theme this week

at the The Pixie Cottage is FAMILY...

and currently in my life that has WEDDING written all over it.

You may remember this November the Saturday following

Thanksgiving my mommy is getting married to Mr. Bill.

So neat to witness unexpected true love in life after 60.

I am continually in awe of how my mom

and Mr. Bill live life to its fullest,

they are both so young at heart.

I want to be like her!

My creation this week ...

follows both the family theme and our current sketch by
Cindy Haffner ...

As always you have a choice at
The Pixie Cottage
...

Create a project based on the theme, the sketch, or a combination of the two!

We turned the end of our FAMILY Mexican vacation into a renewal of vows/ incredible family photo shoot. It was truly a case of "life imitating art"

I love how the wind was so dynamic in arranging it...

little did I know when I drew the wedding collection this spring
that I would get to portray the bride this August.

these are a few of my favorite prints now adorning our walls; poster size...

So Happy TOGETHER!

Forever & Ever....Amen!

Take time to enjoy the little things in life, fore it is those that mean the most!

NEW LIFE by combining them with the HOO Loves You Stamp by Eileen Gutierrez that debuted the week of CHA from The Pixie Cottage.

Good Luck and Happy Creating!

The following is my 'pictorial how to' on recycling

Mod Podge is great for sticking the 2 together

roll the paper around a thin paint brush or pencil...

glue end in place to complete the roll...

REPEAT...

glue on...

Adorn with your favorite stamp.
I chose HOO Loves You Stamp by Eileen Gutierrez
colored it with Copics

Time to crack the books...

and once you are well engrossed in your favorite story
a handy dandy Artishtically creative, using stamps from
The Pixie Cottage BOOKMARK
will be just what you need to keep your spot!

Based on this week's Pixie Cottage Challenge #32
"ANYTHING BUT a CARD" this is what I designed...

The second option for the challenge is to use

the following sketch by our Guest Sketcher Jay Jay ...

You may combine the sketch with the theme or use separately.

Blending the sweetness of Cassie by Di Carubia

and a little wild kitty pattern paper, and the perfect amount of pink ...

this is the bookmark I made for... Sienna from a baby has been a tried and true "dog lover" (and she's allergic to cats!)

Which made Give Me A Hug by Alisa Ramirez the PAWfect stamp to use...

for my child that embraces the rainbow along with puppies...

Before we went on vacation I created this bookmark using my digi image:
Jacques and the Mama Fish by Artish

Guess who wanted this one!?

If your kiddos have played out the following scenario as mine did this a.m.

(all set with backpacks, lunch pails and smiles for 1st and 4th grade)

you, too, may find a little time for yourself to warrant needing a bookmark!
Happy Creating

Back in the swing of things...

Hello or should I say "Hola"?
We are back from vacation!
Exactly one week left 'til school starts,
truly time to start thinking about backpacks, buses, notebooks
and soon there after PUMPKINS!
This week at The Pixie Cottage our challenge for you is
to create a piece with a specialty fold/ and use this week's sketch.
I opted for the flip/flop fold and created this card with a swinging center using

Pumpkin Molly by Eileen Gutierrez

Can you read the sentiment?
I first wrote it in white gel pen, and then wrote over it with mechanical pencil.

Here is this week's sketch...

Are you up for the Challenge of combining them???
Which ever option you choose link back a NEW creation to
The Pixie Cottage -Challenge #31
for your chance to win Pixie Cottage Stamps !

I referenced my limited Spanish lingo in my opening...

the 5 of us had a wonderful fabulous time in Cancun.

This pic was upon our arrival- we're slightly darker now, and rejuvenated!

Thoughts of dancing through the waves will keep me happy for quite a while!

(which is a very good thing considering there are no oceans in Oklahoma!)

Signing off with sand in my piggies...
