Hibernation is OVER...

it is time to wake up and smell the FLOWERS!!!!
That is exactly what Barnie is doing!
About 40 minutes from our home
at the top of what seems to be an Oklahoma mountain
is a Girl Scout camp...ahhhhhhh...the great outdoors!
I strategically cut around my illustration after I colored Barnie
with Copics and inserted him right at the entrance to our campsite.

When you visit the Pixie Cottage this week
you will discover Barnie
is not the only one fanatical about flowers!!
Our current challenge, once again, gives you a CHOICE....
use this awesome sketch by Jacque ...

AND/OR have a Frenzy of Flowers adorning your creation!

Once you have your masterpiece posted on your blog

link it back to The Pixie Challenge #16 (Sketch and Flower Frenzy)

for your chance to win!!

I am the resident Pixie Cottage scrapbook artist...

total bonus ~I am actually getting my own layouts completed!! ;)

Here is my take on the sketch (rotated once clockwise)

Michelle better be careful...

once word gets out there are S'MORES

all the critters from the Pixie Cottage Stamp Collection

will be wanting to visit camp!

I've entered this Happy Camper layout in the following challenges:

Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes
Our Creative Corner - Blooming Blossoms
Creative Craft Challenges - Blooming Marvelous
One Stitch At A Time - Flowers
Wee Memories - Flowers

If you missed Saturday's Fabric Flower Tutorial by Katie

you'll want to check it out!

I did not have coordinating fabric of pink and purple on hand...

However, I discovered the light weight mulberry paper works well too!!

The lower bloom is layered.

Go raid your fabric stash...

these were fun to make and add so much dimension.

To those of you that 'know' my children...

it will come as little surprise that upon seeing me creating

the floral accents for my layout

within minutes Sienna was fashioning a flower with an alternate purpose!

A beautiful hair embellishment to compliment her baby bun!

All the ballerinas will be wanting them!

This a.m. she made a more vibrant one to coordinate with her school outfit.

Thank you Katie for inspiring both of us!

  15. WOW, I love all your projects. I am going to have to try those fabric flowers. They look so great. How creative to put this image in the middle of a woodsy background. Looks fabulous. And in the scrapbook page in the center. He definately looks like he belongs there.

PS Just to let you know that if you have word verification switched on in the future the DCD team will not be able to leave you a comment (you might not even know you have it switched on)
It is so easy to switch off and if you us comment moderation you can still monitor your comments, and if you switch off word verification you will get lots more comments from your readers
    Heres what to do if you don't already know;
    Click customize
    Then click the settings tab
Then click comments , scroll down to "Show word verification for comments?" and just clock "No"
At this point if you want to turn on "Comment moderation" you can just fill in this section with your email address etc on the same page, personally I don't have this on either and I don't get any problems
I hope you don't mind me saying this its just that word verification slows us all up and take the fun out of blogging
